City Council Retreat

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Joseph Domingo opened the Retreat Session at 7:00 p.m.

II.       ROLL CALL

Ron Gant (1),  Betty Branche (2), Thorland Bradley (3), Andy Zblewski (4), Cheryl Krause (5), George Strander (6) and Mayor Joseph Domingo.

Administration:  Mike Herman, City Manager; Kevin Markovich, Director of Public Services; Kerry Helmick, Finance Director/City Clerk/City Treasurer; Eric Miller, Chief of Public Safety; Nidia Wolf, Downtown Development Authority Executive Director;  Peggy Sindt, Economic Development Corporation President; Eric Sanchez, Economic Development Corporation Vice President; John Tracy, Code Enforcement Officer; Shannon Haight, Assessing Clerk and Chuck Robison, City Attorney.

Economic Development Corporation Board Members Scott Allread, Mike Frantsen, Ray Campbell, Herman McCall and Joyce Spicer were also present.

III.     DISCUSSION

A.         EDC Items.

A presentation was given by EDC President Sindt.

Comments were received from Council Members Krause and Strander, Mayor Domingo, City Manager Herman, City Attorney Robison and EDC Board Members McCall and Spicer.

B.                  DDA Items.

·            Bohm Theater

A presentation was given by DDA Executive Director Wolf.

Comments were received from Council Members Gant, Zblewski, Strander, Bradley and Krause, Mayor Domingo, City Manager Herman, Director of Public Services Markovich, Chief of Public Safety Miller, Code Enforcement Officer Tracy and City Attorney Robison.

C.                  Street Program.

A presentation was given by City Manager Herman.

Comments were received from Council Members Krause, Zblewski, Branche and Bradley, Mayor Domingo, City Manager Herman and Director of Public Services Markovich.

D.                 Sidewalk Program.

A presentation was given by Director of Public Services Markovich.

Comments were received from Council Members Strander, Branche, Bradley, Gant and Krause, Mayor Domingo, City Manager Herman, Director of Public Services Markovich and City Attorney Robison.

E.                  Miscellaneous.

City Manager Herman updated the Council on the footer drainage issue at City Hall and the status of various workers compensation items currently in arbitration and indicated the need for further direction from the Council regarding elderly housing/apartment square footage requirements.

Comments were received from Council Members Zblewksi and Krause, Director of Public Services Markovich, Code Enforcement Officer Tracy and City Attorney Robision.

IV.       ADJOURNMENT

Bradley moved, Branche supported, CARRIED, to Adjourn the Retreat Session.  (7-0, rcv).

Mayor Domingo adjourned the Retreat Session at 9:35 p.m.
