Mayor William M. Wheaton opened the regular session at 7:00 p.m.

VII. ITEMS FOR INDIVIDUAL DISCUSSION
A. Request for Approval of Reappointment of Mike Herman to the Albion Building Authority Board for a Term Expiring 06/30/2011.

Strander moved, Krause supported, CARRIED, to Reappointment Mike Herman to the Albion Building Authority Board for a Term Expiring 06/30/2011. (7-0, rcv).
B. Request for Approval for the Downtown Development Authority to Hold its 7th Annual Red, White & Blue Cruise-In on Superior Street on July 03, 2008 and to Close Superior Street from Michigan Avenue to Erie Street from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Comments were received from Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Wolf.
Branche moved, Strander supported, CARRIED, to Approve the Downtown Development Authority Holding its 7th Annual Red, White & Blue Cruise-In on Superior Street on July 03, 2008 and Closing Superior Street from Michigan Avenue to Erie Street from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (7-0, rcv).
C. Request for Approval to Award the Sidewalk Contract Bid to Tom’s Advanced Paving Company - $158,885.
Comments were received from Council Members Gant and Krause, Mayor Wheaton and City Manager Herman.
Waito moved, Zblewski supported, CARRIED, to Approve Awarding the Sidewalk Contract Bid to Tom’s Advanced Paving Company - $158,885. (7-0, rcv).
D. Request for Approval for Friends & Family, Inc. to Hold Their Summer League Basketball Program in Holland Park from June 28, 2008 to August 23,2008.
Comments were received from Council Members Branche, Gant, Krause and Strander; Mayor Wheaton; City Manager Herman; Public Safety Chief Miller; Marcus Ware, 103 East Mulberry Street and Lula Harris, 103 Watson Street.
Gant moved, Krause supported, CARRIED, to Approve Friends & Family, Inc. Holding Their Summer League Basketball Program in Holland Park from June 28, 2008 to August 23,2008 and Authorizing Public Safety to Close Michigan Avenue between Dalrymple Street and Albion Street as Needed. (7-0, rcv).
E. Discussion/Approval of Changes to Transient Merchant Ordinance.
Comments were received from Council Members Gant, Waito and Krause, Mayor Wheaton, City Manager Herman and Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Wolf.
Branche moved, Gant supported, CARRIED, to Approve the Changes to the Transient Merchant Ordinance as Presented. (7-0, rcv).
F. Motion to Excuse Absent Council Member(s).
No action was needed as all Council Members were present.

IX. EXECUTIVE SESSION
The City Manager requests an Executive Session under the Open Meetings Act (Section 15.268(a), P.A. 267 of 1976, as amended) to consider the dismissal, suspension or disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, or to consider a periodic personnel evaluation of a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent, if the named person requests a closed hearing.
Krause moved, Waito supported, CARRIED, to adjourn to Executive Session. (7-0, rcv).
Mayor Wheaton adjourned to Executive Session at 7:47 p.m.
X. ADJOURNMENT
Krause moved, Branche supported, CARRIED, to adjourn the Regular Session. (7-0, rcv).
Mayor Wheaton adjourned the Regular Session at 9:02 p.m.
