City Council Retreat

CALL TO ORDER

 

Mayor William M. Wheaton opened the retreat at 7:00 p.m.

 

ROLL CALL

A.         Water System Reliability Study.

Director of Public Services Markovich introduced Paul Romano, Jones & Henry Engineers, who presented the recently completed Water System Reliability Study to Council.

B.         DDA Items.

           

1.                   River Trail.

 

An update was provided by DDA Director Wolf.

2.                  Charrette DVD.

 

An update was provided by DDA Director Wolf.

 

Council viewed a DVD presentation created by the volunteer architects who participated in the Design Charrette.

 

3.                  Marketing Study.

 

An update was provided by DDA Director Wolf.

 

a.                   Downtown Catalyst Project.

 

b.                  College/Downtown Corridor Project.

c.                   Marketing & Signage.

4.                  Brick Street & CBD Future Changes.

 

An update was provided by DDA Director Wolf.

 

C.                  Vacant Houses.

 

1.                   Demolitions.

An overview was provided by City Manager Herman.

 

An update was provided by Code Enforcement Officer Tracy.

4.                  Landlords & Drug Houses.

 

An update was provided by Chief of Public Safety Miller.

5.                  Curfew.

 

An update was provided by Chief of Public Safety Miller.

E.         Dogs.

 

                        An update was provided by City Manager Herman.

Council consensus was reached to schedule a study session for further discussion of dog-related issues.

 

    IV.   ADJOURNMENT

 

Krause moved, Branche supported, CARRIED, to adjourn the retreat.  (7-0, rcv).
