A.     CALL TO ORDER

 

City of Marshall Mayor Bruce Smith opened the study session at 7:02 p.m.

 

B.      ROLL CALL

 

Ron Gant (1), Betty Branche (2), Ken Waito (3), Andy Zblewski (4),  Cheryl Krause (5) and Mayor Pro-Tem George Strander (6).   Mayor William M. Wheaton was absent.

 

            Administration: Mike Herman, City Manager; Kevin Markovich, Director of Public Services; Kerry Helmick, Finance Director/City Clerk/City Treasurer; Eric Miller, Chief of Public Safety;  Chuck Robison, City Attorney; Dan Strowbridge, Albion Public Safety Lieutenant; Jannette Richmond-Kern, Albion Public Safety Detective; Tim Stanley, Albion Public Safety Officer; and Michelle Mattson, Albion Public Safety Dispatcher.

 

            City of Marshall: Council Members Ron Goodwin, Mike Kinter, Luanne Miller, Brent Williams and Matt Glaser and Mayor Bruce Smith.

            An historical overview was provided by Chief Olson.

1.       Albion Council Member Krause, Albion Mayor Pro-Tem Strander, Marshall Council Member Miller, Marshall Mayor Smith, Albion City Manager Herman and Mr. Harvey spoke regarding a timeline.

 

2.      Marshall Councilmember Glaser, Marshall Mayor Smith, Albion Chief Miller, Marshall Chief Olson, and Calhoun County Commissioner Bolger spoke regarding other interested parties.

 

3.      Calhoun County Administrator/Controller Purcell gave some general comments of support from the County’s perspective.

 

F.     PUBLIC COMMENT

 

No public comments were received.

 

G.         NEXT STEPS

 

Both Albion and Marshall Councils reached a consensus to direct their respective City staffs to continue their efforts to draft a proposal(s) and report same within 60-75 days.

 

H.        CLOSING COMMENTS

 

Albion Council Member Zblewski, Albion Mayor Pro-Tem Strander, Marshall Mayor Smith, Albion City Manager Herman and Mr. Harvey expressed their appreciation to the Councils, administration and staff of both cities for their collaborative efforts on this project to date.
