CALL TO ORDER

 

Mayor William M. Wheaton opened the regular session at 7:00 p.m.

Ron Gant (1), Betty Branche (2), Ken Waito (3), Andy Zblewski (4), Cheryl Krause (5), George Strander (6) and Mayor William M. Wheaton.

 

            Administration: Mike Herman, City Manager;  Kevin Markovich, Director of Public Services; Kerry Helmick, Finance Director/City Clerk/City Treasurer; Eric Miller, Chief of Public Safety; John Tracy, Code Enforcement Officer and Chuck Robison, City Attorney.

Gant moved, Krause supported, CARRIED, to Approve the Consent Calendar as Presented.  (7-0, rcv).

 

ITEMS FOR INDIVIDUAL DISCUSSION

 

A.         Request for Approval for the Community Action Agency of South Central Michigan to Hold its 22nd Annual Walk for Warmth on Saturday, February 24th, 2007.

 

No comments were received.

 

Branche moved, Zblewski supported, CARRIED, to Approve the Community Action Agency of South Central Michigan Holding its 22nd Annual Walk for Warmth on Saturday, February 24th, 2007.  (7-0, rcv).

 

B.         Request for Approval of Resolution #2007-02, to Approve RS Consultants as a Vendor.

Waito moved, Gant supported, CARRIED, to Approve Resolution #2007-02, to Approve RS Consultants as a Vendor.  (7-0, rcv).

 

Request for Approval of Resolution #2007-03, to Approve Waito
Plumbing & Heating as a Vendor.

 

No comments were received.

 

Zblewski moved, Krause supported, CARRIED, to Approve Resolution #2007-03, to Approve Waito Plumbing & Heating as a Vendor.  (6-0, rcv, Waito abstaining).

 

Request for Approval of Resolution #2007-04, to Approve Custom Police Concepts, LLC as a Vendor.

 

No comments were received.

 

Krause moved, Branche supported, CARRIED, to Approve Resolution #2007-04, to Approve Custom Police Concepts, LLC as a Vendor.  (7-0, rcv).

 

E.                  Request for Approval to Award Chemical Bids for the Water and Wastewater Departments.

 

Comments were received from City Manager Herman.

 

Gant moved, Waito supported, CARRIED, to Approve Awarding the Chemical Bids for the Water and Wastewater Departments as Presented.  (7-0, rcv).

 

F.                  Request for Approval to Enter into a 3-Year Agreement for Performance of the City’s Annual Audit with Abraham & Gaffney.

 

Comments were received from Councilmembers Gant, Zblewski and Strander and City Manager Herman.

 

Waito moved, Strander supported, CARRIED, to Approve Entering into a 3-Year Agreement for Performance of the City’s Annual Audit with Abraham & Gaffney.  (7-0, rcv).

 

Motion to Excuse Absent Council Member(s).

 

No action was needed as all Councilmembers were present.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

 

The City Manager requests an Executive Session under the Open Meetings Act (Section 15.268 (c), P.A. 267 of 1976, as amended) for strategy and negotiation sessions connected with the negotiation of a collective bargaining agreement when either negotiating party requests a closed hearing.

 

Branche moved, Zblewski supported, CARRIED, to adjourn to executive session.  (7-0, rcv).

 

Mayor Wheaton adjourned to executive session at 7:29 p.m.

Krause moved, Branche supported, CARRIED, to adjourn the regular session.  (7-0, rcv).
