City Council Retreat

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Joseph Domingo opened the Retreat Session at 7:00 p.m.

II.       ROLL CALL

Ron Gant (1),  Betty Branche (2),  Andy Zblewski (4), Cheryl Krause (5), George Strander (6) and Mayor Joseph Domingo.  Thorland Bradley (3) was absent.

Administration:  Mike Herman, City Manager; Kevin Markovich, Director of Public Services; Kerry Helmick, Finance Director/City Clerk/City Treasurer; Eric Miller, Chief of Public Safety; John Tracy, Code Enforcement Officer; Shannon Haight, Assessing Clerk and Chuck Robison, City Attorney.

III.     DISCUSSION

            Opening comments were given by City Manager Herman.

A.         Land Bank/Code Enforcement.

·         rehabilitation

·         Harvard update

An overview was given by City Manager Herman.

A presentation was given by Code Enforcement Officer Tracy.

Comments were received from Council Members Gant, Zblewski, Krause, Strander and Branche, Mayor Domingo, City Manager Herman, Assessing Clerk Haight and City Attorney Robison.

B.                  Public Safety Technology Grant.

An overview was given by City Manager Herman.

A presentation was given by Chief of Public Safety Miller.

Comments were received from Council Members Gant, Zblewski, Strander and Krause, Mayor Domingo, City Manager Herman and City Attorney Robison.

C.                  Recreation Millage/Programs and Costs.

A presentation was given by City Manager Herman.

Comments were received from Council Members Krause, Strander, Zblewski, Branche and Gant, Mayor Domingo, City Manager Herman, Director of Public Services Markovich, Finance Director Helmick, Code Enforcement Officer Tracy and City Attorney Robison.

D.                 Budget Issues 2009 & 2010.

A presentation was given by City Manager Herman.

Comments were received from Council Members Strander and Krause, Director of Public Services Markovich, Code Enforcement Officer Tracy, Assessing Clerk Haight and City Attorney Robison.

IV.       ADJOURNMENT

Krause moved, Branche supported, CARRIED, to Adjourn the Retreat Session.  (6-0, rcv).

Mayor Domingo adjourned the Retreat Session at 10:01 p.m.
