CALL TO ORDER

 

Mayor Joseph Domingo opened the regular session at 7:00 p.m.

 

MOMENT OF SILENCE WAS OBSERVED

 

ROLL CALL

 

Ron Gant (1), Betty Branche (2), Thorland Bradley (3), Andy Zblewski (4),   Cheryl Krause (5), George Strander (6) and Mayor Joseph Domingo.

 

            Administration: Mike Herman, City Manager;  Kevin Markovich, Director of Public Services; Kerry Helmick, Finance Director/City Clerk/City Treasurer; Eric Miller, Chief of Public Safety;  John Tracy, Code Enforcement Officer; Eric Sanchez, Economic Development Corporation Vice President; Chuck Robison, City Attorney and Dr. Kirk Lee, 7th District County Commissioner.

           

MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS' COMMENTS

 

Comments were received from Council Members Gant, Branche and Zblewski and Mayor Domingo.

VI.       CONSENT CALENDAR

 

A.                 Approval of Regular Session Minutes – February 02, 2009.

 

No comments were received.

 

Zblewski moved, Branche supported, CARRIED, to Approve the Consent Calendar as Presented.  (7-0, rcv).

 

VII.     ITEMS FOR INDIVIDUAL DISCUSSION

 

A.         Request for Approval of Resolution #2009-09, to Request MEGA Board Approval of Decker Manufacturing Corporation’s Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption.

 

                        Comments were received from Council Members Gant and Branche, Mayor Domingo, City Manager Herman and Director of Public Services Markovich.

 

                        Krause moved, Zblewski supported, CARRIED, to Approve Resolution #2009-09, to Request MEGA Board Approval of Decker Manufacturing Corporation’s Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption.  (7-0, rcv).

 

            B.         Request for Approval of Resolution #2009-10, to Allow Resident Taxpayers to Appear Before the Board of Review by Written Documents or by a Representative.

 

Comments were received from City Manager Herman.

 

Gant moved, Zblewski supported, CARRIED, to Approve Resolution #2009-10, to Allow Resident Taxpayers to Appear Before the Board of Review by Written Documents or by a Representative.   (7-0, rcv).

 

C.         Discussion/Action on Broadstripe Bankruptcy Filing.

 

Comments were received from Council Members Gant, Zblewski and Strander, Mayor Domingo, City Manager Herman and City Attorney Robison.

 

D.         Request for Approval of Tree Dump Dates for 2009.

 

            Comments were received from Council Member Gant, Mayor Domingo, City Manager Herman and Chief of Public Safety Miller.

 

            Branche moved, Krause supported, CARRIED, to Approve the Tree Dump Dates for 2009 as Presented.  (7-0, rcv).

 

E.         Discussion/Approval of Revised Council and City Manager Goals.

 

            Comments were received from Council Members Strander, Gant and Bradley, Mayor Domingo, City Manager Herman, Director of Public Services Markovich, Code Enforcement Officer Tracy and City Attorney Robison.

 

            Krause moved, Zblewski supported, CARRIED, to Approve the Revised Council and City Manager Goals as Presented.  (7-0, rcv).

 

F.         Motion to Excuse Absent Council Member(s).

 

No action was needed as all Council Members were present.

 

VIII.   CITIZEN'S COMMENTS (Persons addressing the City Council shall limit their comments to no more than five (5) minutes.  Proper decorum is required.)

 

Comments were received from Barb Frederick, 16781 26 Mile Road and County Commissioner Lee, 107 Irwin Avenue.

 

IX.       ADJOURNMENT

 

            Branche moved, Krause supported, CARRIED, to adjourn the Regular Session.  (7-0, rcv).
